On any given afternoon Federica and Andres are likely walking in a giant circle around the golf course behind their apartment in Coral Gables, Florida with their white shepherd Kira. The familiar loop is where they debrief from their days and come back together. The competitive duo met through their mutual friend Andy who invited Federica to a game of pickleball. Andres, smooth as butter, had the brilliant idea of teaming up with Federica. Fed’s expert Milanese backswing and Andres’ Miami boy hustle sparked a winning streak that would become the beginning of this love story.
It’s no surprise that Federica’s optimistic joie de vivre and Andres’ ability to get along with just about anyone make these two such a beautiful match. Their effortlessly chic lives oscillate between fine dining in Portugal to bags of chips on the couch. It’s called balance, look it up.
Speaking of Portugal, they say travel is the ultimate test to a new relationship. Fed and Andres’ first international trip was in 2023 to attend a wedding. Upon discovering that you cannot fly out of the US with a passport that expires within 6 months, Andres was denied entry to the flight. (Let this be a cautionary tale for everyone traveling to the wedding from the United States!) Andres, cool as a Cuban cucumber, told Fed to board the flight and that he’d figure out a way to get there the next day. Fed says Andres says things with a type of deep knowing that make her feel like everything is going to be ok. The truth was, Andres had no plan, but good things happen to good people, right? He manifested an impossible Passport agency appointment for the following morning (with the help of Fed’s immaculate Biri Biri karma) and was in Portugal by dinner. They are effortlessly chic (and lucky) in every sense of the word.
It didn’t take long before their strong personalities met. On their second date at a tennis court in Key Biscayne, they got into a heated debate about the proper way to say croissant in Italian. Andres, a Cubano from Miami studying Italian on Duolingo, was flagrantly confident it was said “cornetto.” Federica, a Milanese transplant with a Miami accent, explained that cornetto was in fact an Italian ice cream, and “brioche” was the correct term for croissant.
As a couple, they’ve grown to complete each other and realize that no matter what life throws at them they now face things together. Their love guided them through Federica’s ACL surgery recovery where Andres would run alongside Federica holding a flashlight at night so she wouldn’t trip on anything. It guided them through Andres’ secret mission to convert Federica into a dog person. They are two souls always finding their way back around to each other.
Join the newlyweds for an unforgettable night of delicious food, drinks, and dancing (of course) to follow. It’s a blessing to share this moment with the family and friends that fill their lives with joy.
P.S. The ruling is still out on how to say croissant in Italian and we hope to settle it once and for all at the wedding.
